Bulk Image Resizer with a File Size Limit

Portals and clients rarely ask for pixels. They ask for “under 500 KB” or “no file larger than 2 MB”. VARNAMORE takes that number directly.

Set the cap, not the quality

Enter a limit — 500 KB, 1 MB, 2 MB — and each image is fitted underneath it. The search runs on the real encoded bytes, not an estimate: quality is bisected to find the highest setting that still fits, and only if that is not enough is the long edge reduced. The result is the best-looking file that satisfies the limit, decided per image.

Why per-image matters

A flat “quality 70” makes a plain studio shot far smaller than the cap and still leaves a detailed landscape over it. Fitting each image separately means every file lands under the limit and none is degraded more than it had to be.

And it tells you if it could not

If an image genuinely cannot be squeezed under the cap without going below your minimum quality, VARNAMORE says so, by file name, with the measured size next to the required size. It does not silently ship an oversized file and it does not silently wreck the picture.

Several sizes in one pass

Register up to eight output sets — “2000 px under 500 KB for the portal”, “full size at 350 dpi for print”, “1080 px square for social” — and produce them all from one run, into separate folders.

Everything stays on your machine

No upload, no account, no queue. The application works offline, which also means unpublished client material never leaves your computer.
